Who is b.wise?Hello! b. wise is me, Alston, the designer & chief of b.wise papers. My goal in starting b.wise papers was to create an online boutique for custom stationery, combining the convenience of the internet with detailed personal attention to each and every order. When an order is placed through the site, it comes straight to my inbox. Then I contact you directly with a digital proof of your design. I love what I do & I love it when others like what I do too. Because connecting with people matters. And it's the little things that can make a person's day, like discovering a hand addressed envelope in the mailbox, hidden like a gem among all the bills and junk. I'm so glad you asked. When I was young, my family nicknamed me "b." Now there are differing stories as to the origin of this nickname. Mom's version: "You were so busy!" Sister's version: "It's because you were so bossy." Me? Never. Regardless, the nickname stuck and still to this day, they all call me "b."
When I had friends over as a kid, they'd ask "Who's b?" Until some of them started calling me that, too. Which was fine with me because I'm a nicknamer, too. And if you come over to our house now, you'd probably have no idea who the cast of characters are that we are calling out to. There's Reginald, Howard, Bunny, Meckie, HP, Sassafrass...the list goes on and on.
OK, so fast forward through the teen years, and imagine the excitement when I married a handsome young chap with the last name "Wise." B. Wise. Can you stand it? They couldn't. When I started my company a couple of years after that, b.wise papers was the name on everyone's lips. Obviously.
